Wanda Holmes, 78 of Fort Walton Beach, FL was called home to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 17th, 2010. She was a devoted wife & mom always taking time for family and never in a hurry. Despite nearly 50 years of physical problems she never wanted to be a burden to anyone. She showed God's love to everyone by her ability to endure and her strength of character. She loved making gifts with her hands that ranged from baking to painting pictures by number. She also loved to travel but it was never about the destination but sharing the journey with family or friends - a Sunday car ride would be just fine. She dedicated herself to being a full time home maker in Sissonville, WV before retiring to FL with her husband of 57 years.

She was pre-deceased in death by her parents, Burl & Evelyn Kincaid, and by her husband, Clifford Holmes only 7 months ago.

Survivors include her son, Larry Holmes and wife Renee; grandson, Justin Holmes all of Fort Walton Beach, FL. sisters, Paula Pfost of Panama City Beach, FL, and Betty Ashton of Clearwater, FL; and three nieces and their families.

Visitation will be at Davis Watkins Funeral Home - 8 Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, Fl from 11:00-12:30 Monday, March 22, 2010 followed by a 1pm graveside services at Beal Memorial Cemetery.

Her life is summed up by 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
