Dear Tyrell's Family My name is Mark F, a returned LDS missionary. I accidentally stumbled on Tyrell's website and was very touched by the photo's and spirit I felt when I thought about Tyrell. How devastating this must be for your family. I felt strongly that I should tell you that He loves you, and that God does not soon forget those who served him. The Enabling power of the Christ's Atonement can help you through this hard time. I will pray for you and hope you are feeling the love of the Lord at this time. This talk by Elder Bednar is not about greif, but about how to tap into the enabling power of the Atonement that my help you through this difficult time. http://speeches.byu.edu/htmlfiles/BednarF01.html Sincerely, Mark F

Tyrel! I am devistated. I lost touch with Tyrel when he moved to Kansas (I think). Last night I found out that he passed away. I cant get it out of my head. This is a kid that left impressions. He made big differences in my life. He introduced me to my Wife. He introduced me to Bishop Tucker (big impact as well). He convinced Brandon to keep my rent low so I could stay in the house. He would bum rides all day while I drove his car to work in north Scottsdale because I had farther to go. He inspired me to work harder and take chances. He had an ability to dedicate himself to any goal. He went through hard times while we lived together but it didn't seem to slow him down at all. He always had a smile, he was always a quality friend. I think about him often. This is tough. He had a powerful testimony of Jesus Christ. He was very studious and quick to repent. I have missed him and will continue to miss him. He made the world a better place, especially in my case. God be with you Tyrel. My prayers and condolences to your family and many friends.

The Rose Beyond the Wall Near a shady wall a rose once grew, Budded and blossomed in God's free light, Watered and fed by the morning dew, Shedding it's sweetness day and night. As it grew and blossomed fair and tall, Slowly rising to loftier height, It came to a crevice in the wall Through which there shone a beam of light. Onward it crept with added strength With never a thought of fear or pride, It followed the light through the crevice's length And unfolded itself on the other side. The light, the dew, the broadening view Were found the same as they were before, And it lost itself in beauties new, Breathing it's fragrance more and more. Shall claim of death cause us to grieve And make our courage faint and fall? Nay! Let us faith and hope receive-- The rose still grows beyond the wall, Scattering fragrance far and wide Just as it did in days of yore, Just as it did on the other side, Just as it will forevermore. ~ A. I will never forget sitting on my couch in my apartment as I gazed up in amazement as this return missionary shared the most amazing stories. Tyrel's testimony softened my heart and helped me to have more of a desire to serve the Lord. He always had new Ideas... always something on his mind and wanting to succeed. I remember him reading books on how to study and wanting to invest and own businesses. His goals were inspirational to all those around him. I will be praying for Tyrels family and close friends. He will always be in our hearts.

I knew Tyrel as *Rock*. We worked together for a summer, with Tasha *Sting*, at the girl scout camp. At that time he was really crazy, doing flips off the lifeguard stand into the shallow end of the pool, throwing the girls around in the water, or fighting with Sting. He is a part of some really wonderful and treasured memories. I know how close your family is and I know he will be missed tremendously. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Tara, I am so sorry to hear about your brother. When Kelly told us about your loss, my heart went out to you and your family. I lost my mother 9 short years ago and I understand the pain you must all be feeling. It is never easy but being together with friends and family, remembering the good times and celebrating his life, will make it a little easier to get through this difficult time. This web site that you created is a beautiful memorial. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Carina Beal and Dave Danielson

I also knew Tyrel as Elder Nichols. I was fortunate enough to serve around him in Salem. Even though time seems to fade memories about the mission I will never forget Elder Nichols and his smile. He brought so much spirit to our district. He taught so many wonderful lessons and definately strengthened my testimony of the Savior. There was no doubt that he loved serving the Lord. He brightened the lives of so many and will never be forgotten. My heart is full of love for the Nichols family as you mourn the loss of your brother, son, and friend. A brighter day will come when you will reunite with him in heaven. He taught every one of us about that principle and truly believed in it. My prayers are with you. I will miss him too. I'll always remember Tyrel as Elder Nichols. I don't think I ever saw him without a smile or a story about wrestling. He was a very energetic and enthusiastic missionary who loved serving the people of Oregon. He loved the gospel and don't even get me started on how much he loved Bruce R McConkie. I saw him give a talk after a baptism once that not only impressed me to tears, but the entire room. It was a talk that Elder McConkie had given and Elder Nichols couldn't have said it any better, he bore his testimony with conviction and with the spirit, and strengthened my belief in the Savior. Elder Nichols was always upbeat and always had time to hear what you had to say. I remember whenever he heard something funny or a little crazy, he would make a fist and bite his index finger. ha ha It always made me laugh. But the fondest memory I have of Elder Nichols was when he wrestled his companion Elder Bence and put every move known to man on him. I took an entire rolls worth of film in pictures and still laugh at them to this day. My sincerest condolences to the Nichols family in their loss and know that Tyrel was a great friend to many people and missionaries while he served. Skyler Moss

I offer my condolences to the Nichols family. I did not know Ty that well, but when I was around him he was a fun loving individual. I hope the family will be able to come to grips with this.

Tyrel Nichols was my best friend. His optimistic mind set blew me away when I first met him. But slowly I fell in love with him. Our religious talks were so spiritual and special- I was but his student learning from a very wise teacher. His smile was my favorite. Tyrel had a perfect contagious smile that swayed me. He always wanted me to be happy and made so much effort. His concepts and thoughts he would share with me always had me questioning, and I would fall on my knees in prayer often times to thank Heavenly Father for Tyrel. I loved being there for him these past couple months. I cherish all the memories and smiles we shared at our secret spot or just when we were out cruising. He always had the best music taste and would surprise me with CDs frequently, and I loved it. He was amazing at cooking breakfast, and it always made me laugh with how excited he was to make me something. I feel so privileged to be in his life and him in mine. He saw and continues to see so much potential in me, as I saw in him. I love Tyrel. I know he is not suffering anymore but rather watching over us. I feel as though he is my personal guardian angel and will help me through the excruciating aching and overbearing pain. He was and will always be a huge part of my heart. Although it may be broken, the mending will take process as I continue relying on Heavenly Father and taking the right steps to over come this tragedy.
