God, Family, Golfing, and Fishing
Tom, dad, Pa Tom, Rocky Lennon: The Irish Stallion. After twenty-one years in the ring with cancer, God rang the bell, and our Rocky went to be with Jesus. He was at peace and surrounded by family. We mourn the emptiness in our own lives, but rejoice in his deliverance. He no longer feels pain. He is strong, whole, and dancing for Jesus. He loved music and is singing with the angels' choir.

Dad was born in New York, but later moved to San Diego, where he built a successful career (TFL Inc.) and raised a family. He moved to Oregon, in 2013, to spend his last year with his children.

He was the most optimistic and generous man. He smiled and laughed effortlessly. He never met a stranger, and everyone whose path he crossed instantly fell in love. He was incredibly intelligent. He read the paper cover to cover every morning and could easily work out math problems in his head, leaving the rest of us shamefully counting on our fingers. He took his generosity and brilliant mind and applied them to his work as a Court Appointed Receiver. He was especially proud of the pro bono work he did to help save San Diego's Symphony.

He was involved with numerous organizations through the years, sitting on many boards, and donating his time and money to causes that were dear to his heart. He never turned away a friend in need.

Dad enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hustling pool. He delighted in beating us at Scrabble. He possessed an amazing sense of humor and occasionally attempted to cheat at games. He got the biggest kick out of playing the wrongly accused when we caught him. He was a huge fan of the San Diego Chargers and Padres. He craved adventure and loved to travel. He saw beauty in the desert landscape and found peace whenever the ocean was near.

He loved watching the shows, "24", with his son, Danny; "Monk" and "Psych" with his granddaughter, Lucy. His favorite movie was, Top Gun, and he always teared up during Rocky.

Most of all, dad loved his daughters: Farrah (Jess/Apple), Katherine (Kat/ Peach), his son, Danny (Daniel), and his granddaughter, Lucy (Lu/ Sweetie/ Pineapple Princess).

He only loved his Heavenly Father above his family. He trusted God to care for him and expressed no concern over what his future held. He knew God was in control of his life.

We will love and miss him until we are reunited. We want to thank him for being our dad and grandpa. It is such an honor to be Tom Lennon's "kids". We will continue to strive to make him proud by carrying on his legacy.

"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant!" Matthew 25:21a

Happy Father’s Day, Dad. I know you’re doing something special in Heaven, fishing, eating and playing golf? Can you get me a day pass so I can spend today with you and Pop? I think Heaven should have day passes. It would help the time pass between “see you again when I get there”. I bet you’re having salmon. And the fish didn’t even have to die! But it’s non GMO-😉 Love you, Dad. Miss you every day. There’s just this huge part of me missing without you and Pop. I know it’ll be full again one day. Certainly keeps you living right when you’re waiting to see people you love again. We’re doing great things with your foundation and namesake. That’s my gift to you. I love you, Big Apple! Always and to Heaven and back.

Sorry I’m a day late on here, Dad. Happy 73rd Birthday! Yesterday we all went ice skating for your day-it would’ve been a blast to take you in your wheelchair. I’m sure you would’ve taken out many children. Then, we went to a local Irish pub. The waitress was from England and had a bit of a cockney accent. You would have loved her! Danny ordered and ate a huge plate of “Irish nachos”, nachos with cornbeef. He also had a beer for you. We said he ate for two! He so did. 😂 Kat got Lucy a beautiful ring with your initials. She’s turning 18 tomorrow. Where did the time go? I wish you were here to celebrate with us. She misses you so much every day. We all do. The foundation will honor you and keep your legacy of generosity and good will alive. I love you, Dad. Thanks for being my dad.

Merry Christmas, Dad. Love and miss you so much today. There will never be as amazing a celebration on earth as wonderful as when you and Pop were here with us. But, our life is more beautiful because we had you. One day we will all be in Heaven to celebrate with you again. Love you still and always.

Happy 3rd Angelversary, Dad. Miss you no less. Love you more every day.

A stranger whose arms I was placed in at 6 months old became the only home I would ever know. He was my best friend; at times an adversary, as I sought independence. He inspired me to be the best I could and sometimes made me feel like I couldn’t live up to his expectations of perfection. We learned to embrace imperfection and love one another because and not in spite. We were so different, this I knew for sure from a pretty young age. I danced to music only I could hear, was hopelessly messy, a fearless, free spirit who always went right when everyone else was going left. He wore fitted suits and thought in math and logic, trees were brown and green and the lines were always colored in. What we didn’t realize was how alike we actually were. He always had the spirit of an artist, and I had the mind of a thinker. And one day he heard the music, and I saw the numbers. He gave me structure and I gave him freedom. Life was complete when we had each other. Wherever he was, there was home. Now home is in Heaven, and I’m just renting.

Until we meet again, I carry you in my heart.

"We loved your father. Tom was a true friend, neighbor in the "Ranch" in Alpine , and helped us at the beginning of our mission to Romania in 1993-95. He served as our ROM Board Treasurer for several years. He gave us good counsel, love and prayers"
