Beloved son of Vuyo T. Dunjwa from South Africa and Irene Mumbi Njoroge from Kenya. Thando brought a short life, a gentle soul into our midst and he left a wide footprint on the hearts of those who shared in his time and space. He was filled with joy, laughter, happiness and love that transcended his life to touch the lives of so many who knew him and so many who never met him.

“Mumbi” means Creator in Kikuyu, “Vuyo” means Joy in Xhosa and “Thando” means Love in his father’s mother tongue. From the creativity of joy, Thando elevated the spirit of love into a boundary-less entity whose meandering waters will reach far beyond his tiny hands, his eager feet and his mindful soul.

It is often said that the fall must come and the leaves must die in order for the spring to emerge, for the rivers to flow and for the flowers to bloom. The generous gifts that family and friends have given in Thando’s name have been forwarded to Mother’s Love Outreach in Kenya. The non-profit has acquired a water tank to harvest clean rain water so that children in need will have their thirst fulfilled by this water which symbolizes life and which today provides tangible sustenance. From Creativity and Joy, Love has inspired Life. Indeed, there is no footprint too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world.

Thando is greatly missed by his loving grandparents Ashton and Virginia Dunjwa, Dr. Raphael and Lucy Njoroge and the entire family. Live in Peace Thando for you are Loved.

In Loving Memory of Thando Njoroge Dunjwa

Lord make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master; grant that I may not so
much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Hi Mumbi & Vuyo,

Isaiah 43:2 Is our prayer for you.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze

God keep you and watch over you and comfort you in ways that surpass human understanding.

May u find comfort in knowing that your little angle is now with his creator, and he resting in peace/forever. He now lives in God's presence, Thando's life changed but did not end. He is accompanied by Christ who died and now lives in his kingdom where all our tears will be wiped away.

Wisdom 2:23–3:9

God formed man to be imperishable;
the image of his own nature he made them.
But by the envy of the Devil, death entered the world,and they who are in his possession experience it. But the souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them.They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead;and their passing away was thought an affliction and their going forth from us, utter destruction.
But they are in peace. For if before men, indeed, they be punished, yet is their hope full of immortality; Chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed,because God tried them
and found them worthy of himself. As gold in the furnace, he proved them,and as sacrificial offerings he took them to himself. In the time of their visitation they shall shine, and shall dart about as sparks through stubble; They shall judge nations and rule over peoples,
and the Lord shall be their King forever.
Those who trust in him shall understand truth,
and the faithful shall abide with him in love:
Because grace and mercy are with his holy ones,
and his care is with his elect.

Mumbi & Vuyo,
God has not brought you this far only to abandon you now. Along the way, He blessed you with the your beloved sojourner, Thando. Rest assured in the the faith you both share that you will embrace precious Thando again. He was meant to reach where you are destined ahead of his loved ones.
