Susan, I am saddened to hear of your passing. We met whilst your were still living in the Bay Area. You impressed me as someone who was [and is] solid and stand-up. In reviewing some of the other posts I can definitely see that you have had a positive impact on others. May God bless your family and I hope you are resting peacefully.

Dear Susan,
You will always be inextricably associated with my happiest childhood memories. Reminiscing together years later about, for example, our fort of cushions in front of the tv, sitting on your garden wall throwing stones (a favorite of yours I recall!), mousetrap, the paddling pool etc. etc., was almost as fun. What a pleasure too, while reminiscing, to see what a generous, intelligent, beautiful person you’d become. What a sad day, today, to hear of your passing. I'll miss you.
My heartfelt condolences to your family.

I'm so late in discovering this news. Susan and I worked together and Legal Assistance for Seniors and World Institute on Disability. I remember when she left for Austin. We talked on the phone that day. I've kept track of her off and on through FB and we occasionally traded notes. I'm so shocked and grieved to hear of her passing. She was such a strong and talented young woman.

Dear sweet Susan, I have been putting off signing the guest book because I haven't wanted to acknowledge that you are really gone. I think of you all the time and could never forget you. You made my time in Austin so much better and I am very grateful to have met you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my dream of being a fashion designer. Teaching you how to sew and to use your machine was so much fun and an honor for me. I finished my collection for my Masters with a candle lit in your honor and dedicated it to you. You are greatly missed. Sending prayers to the Brady family.

Had hoped to walk the streets of Austin or Oakland again with you or just kick a ballaround the field again. So glad that I got to spend the time I did with you, I can hear your laugh so clearly in my head. Love to you and sister Laura and the rest of the Brady family.

May Susan's precious soul and the souls of the faithful departed Rest in Peace. May all her ancestors including her grandparents Mary and Tim gather her to them. Together, you will look down on Susan's broken hearted family, extended family and friends and pray that they will receive the graces to live with this huge sadness in their lives. May they be comforted in the knowledge that Susan is at peace, with loved ones, in the presence of the Lord. Amen.

Susan, you were so influential in so many people's lives, and I'm not sure you fully appreciated that. One of the best running buddies a girl could ask for - you always held me accountable and made our runs fun and filled with great conversation, and Sophia added a bit of excitement in her own way. Aside from our runs, one of my best memories is when you brought fresh eggs from your chickens as a gift to one of my parties. I wish you and Sophia could have come to Chicago to visit, as you told me she requested of you last year!

My heart aches for the hole that Susan have left in so many people's lives.

I didn't know Susan very well, but she always struck me as someone fun, adventurous and out-going. When I was 15 I was staying in her old room for the summer while she was away on her travels. There was a photo on the shelf of her in a beautiful jungle setting with an Aztec temple behind her. That photo inspired me to want to travel, and I finally got to that same Aztec temple last summer and thought of Susan. My heart goes out to her family and all those who knew her. The world has certainly lost some of its sparkle without her.

God bless Susan, her daughters, her family and friends; may you all find strength in each other at this sad, sad time. Blessings from Ireland xxx

Remember the plate of deviled eggs you brought to Easter brunch at Karen's, that you didn't want to reveal under the foil but I made you? Remember Maya telling Sophia there were no tickets left for the chicken party at our house? Remember how we'd get excited about clothing swaps? Remember last week when I brought over banana bread and Soph grilled you about why you couldn't make banana bread?

I'll miss you girlfriend. There's a little hole in my heart now. Making Sophia banana bread tonight for you.

I was in Austin for Laura & Andrew's wedding. It was my first time to meet lovely Susan. I spent some time enjoying playing with Sophia and Lora. Susan connected with me warmly and spoke of her love for her girls. I know that she loves them deeply, now and forevermore.
I am saddened to not have had the opportunity to get to know Susan better. And, I am thankful that through her friends and family I will get to know her better, the special parts of herself embedded in each of you. My heart goes out to you at this painful time of loss. This is, indeed, a time to weep--to weep for all that was, and all that could have been, and all that will not be. May you find peace. May you receive healing and hope. I am certain that a time to laugh will come again, even though seasoned with scars of this life -- scars of this loss -- before that special time when every tear is wiped away. I know that Susan wants you to laugh. May we honor her by living our lives to the full. She lives through each of us who knew and loved her. May love live on -- the love that always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. We will miss her so.

Susan, you were such an amazing human in our young world of soccer playing and shinanigans. Hearing of your passing has brought so much sadness to my heart. To Susan's eternal spirit & to her family -

I feel confident my brother Matthew Geary greeted Susan on her arrival to the ever-after space that waits for us all. Susan was a being that had a heart on fire to help others, a mind that was relentlessly inquisitive and curious, and a soul that was just too short-lived for our world. I'll carry Susan closely in my heart, and will look forward to when we get to reconnect.

Dear Susan,

When you made a donation to my cancer fundraising last year, I remember thinking what a lovely woman you were inside and out, and how I looked forward to knowing you better and for a long time.

For the all too brief time I knew you, you were on my quite short list of "one of the good ones" You so missed.

Blessings, peace, light & big love to you on your journey.

I look forward to seeing you again one day, on the flipside.
