Memorial
This site is dedicated to Selette Pearce, beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. Selette passed away peacefully February 28th, 2014 after living courageously with ALS for 3 years.

Selette lived with such love and zest that others couldn't help feeling better around her. She embraced a life of curiosity and took joy in learning about the people and events that surrounded her. She was a passionate student of the human experience and loved to listen to people talk about their lives. She was terrifically funny, a crackerjack card player, and an unparalleled friend. She embodied how to live life with enthusiasm and how to focus on the good in one's life.

We miss her terribly but are so grateful for the time we had together. She was a gift.

We will be holding a Celebration of Life for Selette at All Souls Unitarian Church on Saturday, May 10th from 3-5 pm.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make a donation could support the Nina Scott Hulsey Memorial Scholarship fund Selette created for her parents at Texas Women's University.

Dear Family,
I loved your mother very much. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. I am sure she is with our Lord. She was a saint in our midst.

Selette was a remarkable and dear friend over many years. One I will miss very much. Though we had not seen one another in quite a while, it alwas felt as though she was just a phone call or email away.

We are seldom gifted with the friendship of such a person--gentle, kind, intellegent,a sharply iquiring mind, and a genuine condern and interst in others.

we are all diminshed by the loss of her spirit and presence in this life.

Selette was such a calming presence during our years with children at Hearst Elementary. We became friends as we picked up our daughters (Alissa & Heather)from kindergarten. Often we would walk to Roy Rogers talking about school our children, her years growing up in Texas. My how she loved her children, you were all the apple of her eye.

I saw Mrs. Pearce from time to time when visited our offices to meet with her husband, Mr. Pearce, who is my landlord ar OSI.
Mrs. Pearce always had a friendly expression on her face, and a very spontaneous smile.
I trust that she made those close to her very happy, and pray that they can bear her absence.

"When Selette took up her IVC assignment at New Endeavors by Women, Sr. Mary invited her to put order into the bags of clothes which had been donated. Selette created a "shop," organized the clothing, and became the trusted confidant of the women."
