It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved brother/father/uncle/friend - Roy McKenzie. He was our rock, our comforter, our confessor, our world renowned chef and so much more.
He was doing what he loved when it happened - riding his bike - across the Brooklyn Bridge. It seems he had a massive stroke and could not be revived.

My sincere Condolences to the McKenzie Family. It is with heartfelt sympathy I sign this Guest Book. We never know the day nor the hour, & are rarely prepared especially when it is quite sudden. However, we have to remember our loved ones are loaned to us, & at any given time can be called home by our Heavenly Father.

All that’s left are the memories, we need to cherish those memories, they will forever live in our hearts, for when our Loss becomes a Memory, that Memory becomes a Treasure...May Roy rest in the Loving arms of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

My heartfelt condolences are extended to the McKenzie family for the loss of your dear loved one. Please know that our heavenly Father truly cares about you and feels the pain you are going through. Death was never part of God’s original purpose for mankind, so it greatly pains Him to lose one of His people. (Psalm 116:15) Therefore, at Isaiah 26:19, God promises that death will only be temporary, for He will soon restore our lost loved ones to life right here on the earth. What a wonderful time we have to look forward to! Until this loving promise is fulfilled, may your fond memories of Mr. McKenzie bring you solace at this difficult time.

"Ray was one of the first people I met freshman year at Yale. I can still hear his rich laugh, and see his wonderful smile. Very glad that I looked him up and went out for coffee with him when I was in New York in 2005."
