Ron was the father of two boys: Brian and Keith. He had six brothers: Bob, Dick, Dave, Chuck, Jim and John.

Catholicism played an important role in his family. He graduated from all Catholic schools: St. Anastasia, St. George and Lewis College.

He spoke often of his youthful days as a News Sun paper boy. He endured the frigid Illinois weather to complete his run but was also rewarded for success with trips to Riverview Park in Chicago, a trip to a dude ranch in Estes Park Colorado, a tour of the USS Worland and other outings.

The newspaper atmosphere he loved became a part of his life. Soon after college, he was employed at the News Sun again but this time as an advertising executive. He won many salesman of the month awards as he flourished in the sales and advertising arena.

He married Jan in 1971 and shortly after the birth of their two boys, they relocated to Florida. After honeymooning in Miami, they both had decided it was their dream to live in the sunshine state and raise their boys there. He was particularly close to his Aunt Debbie, a special needs child. He spent countless hours playing with her Batman, Riddler and Joker dolls. She lovingly called him Baby Cheeks and enjoyed their frolicking game playing.

Ron loved being the center of attention at parties when he was young, doing his stork impression would bring down the house. With his long, slender legs, he would stand on one foot and pretend to be taking flight while making bird calls.

He enjoyed traveling and fishing. He visited the Bahamas, Key West and Puerto Rico many times.

After retiring, Ron continued to seek adventure in his life by relocating. He went to Las Vegas where he enjoyed the exciting atmosphere of the city.

He was a gregarious man, who enjoyed meeting new people and sharing stories. He had a quirky sense of humor which endeared him to those he met, laughing easily and often. He was generous, kind and always saw the good in those he met.
