Dearest Ricky,
We hope you’re in a Great Place, pain-free and happy.
We all miss you here. Your abrupt departure still doesn’t seem real. I keep expecting to hear “its Rick” on the other end of the phone, or open the door to find you there, your expressive blue eyes shining back at me.

You made everything more fun, life was never dull with you around. Your cheerful nature, boundless enthusiasm, quick wit and terrific sense of humor captivated, delighted and made us laugh.

You remained an avid fan of “Da Bears” and loyal to the “Cubs Forever” after growing up on the streets of Chicago’s Southside. A” quick study” you learned early to “Pay Attention” how to think on your feet and assess any situation.
Not much escaped your keen eye. Always “Willing” wow, how you could dance!

”Stick and Move, Bob and Weave” the “Crazy Cuban” White Boy “Pops” could shoot some hoops. You probably still own those free throw records! Your incredible speed and agility are legendary.

You loved to play hard and you played to win (“show me a good loser and I’ll show you someone who loses a lot”) and win you did – at most everything you played – cards, pinball, wii sports resort, x-box hockey, darts, pool, ponies, softball, basketball, bowling, golf, table tennis, you name it, you won it.

Your athletic prowess underestimated, many lost bets and were reminded to not judge a book by its cover.
Concentration focused “swatting”a golf ball or competing at table tennis, you thrived under pressure the “TT menace” who didn’t know “give up”.
A whiz with numbers, often beating the odds, you said you’d “rather be lucky than good” you had a knack for always landing on your feet, something about the “Rick Factor” I think.

Unpredictable, eager, direct, imaginative, idealistic and resourceful. A natural born leader, keyholder, fair-minded, peacekeeper, yard rep.

Endearing to all creatures, young, old, rich, poor, black, white, dogs, cats, fish, birds and turtles alike, all were drawn to your light.

You frustrated, disturbed, agitated, ruffled, exasperated and infuriated. You instigated, inspired, charmed, empowered, and educated. Never pompous, ostentatious or condescending. You seldom complained or had a bad word to say, you often saw things in a different way. No questions asked, you’d be there night or day, you listened without judgment, and kept us out of harms way.

Well loved by so many, we miss you already. We’ll always remember the lessons you taught, your selfless love and enormous heart, the songs you sang, the stories you told, all the fun we had, the laughter you brought.

Thanks for it all, you’ll live on in our hearts. Be at peace
dear Rick you won’t be forgot!

I was thinking of you today,of the time you went away. But each time my teardrops start, I can feel you in my heart. I think about your smile, and miss you all the while. And when I wish upon a star, I remember where you are. The laughter that we shared. Just proved that we both cared.
You may have gone away. But in my heart you'll stay. Rick, you are missed!! Love you, Always ,Debbie🌜🌟💙💙
