Ray was a child with a lot of interests. He loved being outdoors:fishing, hunting, riding 4-wheelers.
This site is dedicated to Jerry Patton II.
Jerry Patton II(Ray)was my 14 year old brother. Ray was a kind, soft-hearted young man. The type of person that would give someone the shirt off his back. he dearly loved the outdoors(fishing and hunting). He especially loved riding his 4-wheeler, it put an amazing glow on his face. Ray was always a very healthy child very seldom got sick. Until August 2009. On the night August 16, 2009 Ray was feeling bad, he was complaining of the worst headache of his life. Later that night he started vomiting. On Monday morning when i arrived he was a very ill child, he was pretty much immobile. my mom and i arranged a doctors visit for him and took him there as quick as possible. I thought at first he just had a severe virus. After seeing the doctor we had a possible diagnosis, she said she thought it was meningitis. Ray was admitted directly into the local hospital that morning. Later on Monday evening he took a turn for the worst and was air lifted to UK. He fought a long hard battle from Monday until Thursday. He would seem to be doing a litle better then he would go in the other direction. On thursday morning he took a severe turn for the worst. His life was gone! The doctors put him on life support, later on they performed tests that showed he had no brain activity at all. When they came to myself and my family with that information it was devistating. To be looked at and told that someone you love so dearly has no chance at life, tears your heart to shreds. The doctors decided to leave him on the life support Thursday so the family could get in some time with him. Their decision was to unhook him on Friday morning. I stayed with him the night and stood by his side holding his hand while the respirator was removed. This was the hardest thing i have ever done, but i wanted him to know that i was there and he wasn't going alone. Since my brothers passing my life has felt so empty i will never stop missing him, or loving him. I wanted to create this webpage so people could read his story. Jerry Ray Patton II was a hero, now i want him to become a legend!!!!!!!!!
