Wow. Condolences to the Downey family. After my bootcamp, Philip was my 1st boyfriend. He was a very kind man to me and I am so sorry for your loss.

I remember when a number of family members went on a cruise a few years ago. There was one particular evening when Uncle Phil hung out with a few of the younger family members, such as myself, my sister Kim, her husband, and a few others. We were all over the cruise ship, laughing, having a few drinks, just having a blast on vacation. So, the night is now coming to a very late end and Uncle Phil was still "hanging", so all of us decide to go to the late might pizza buffet. While waiting for our food, the comedian on Phil came out in fill force!!! He had joke after joke after joke, I swear I couldn't breath!!! He was hilarious, and made that night a blast! That is just one of my great memories of my uncle, always wanting to put a smile on your face. Love and miss you uncle.

Life is a big journey and very unpredictable. Phil was more than a co-worker to me, he was like a brother to me. I missed Phil's jokes and warm character.I know that he is in a better place now,til we all meet again. May his soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.

I was 11 yrs old when Phil was born, but had I been asked, "What would you want in a brother", I don't think I could have put in words what we received in the person we all know as Phil Downey. In my entire 49 years spent as his "sis", we never argued, been mad at or with each other. We've cried together, hugged each other as if there was no tomorrow, talked about everything and laughed until our sides hurt. He was the sweetest man I know. He had a heart of gold, even with that tough exterior, he was a softie. He touched many!
I am going to miss him so much. I thank God for giving him to me - to us.

His big sis,
Bunny
