Pamela J. Campany

July 3, 2009

LOWVILLE, N.Y. — Pamela J. Campany, 44, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 2, at her home on Rural Avenue.

Born May 18, 1965, in Lowville, a daughter of the late Herbert and Bonnie J. Fuller Hiscock, she was raised by her mother and step-father, Kenneth Thomas, and when she was older by David LaVine. She was a graduate of Lowville Academy where she was a member of the swim team.

Pam was most recently a carrier for the Watertown Daily Times for many years. She had previously worked at Country Bob’s and the Light House Restaurant and also at the Lewis County General Hospital in Dietary Department.

Surviving are her companion, Walter S. Mellnitz; three daughters, Rebekahanne Jean Dick, Harriet Beverly Mellnitz and Abigaillyn Marie Mellnitz, all of Lowville; a sister and her husband, Christine M. and Ray Spencer, Lowville; four brothers and their wives, Kenneth E. and Lisa, Christopher M. and Charity, Kirk N. and Dani and Matthew L. and Doris Thomas, all of Lowville; her step-father, Kenneth E. Thomas Sr. and his wife, Deanna, Copenhagen; a step-brother, Evans Thomas; her paternal grandmother, Emily Thomas, Carthage; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, making latch-hook rugs, spending time with her girls and was an avid Elvis fan.

A memorial service will be held noon Tuesday, July 7, at the Sundquist Funeral Home with both Rev. Keith W. Hardy, pastor of the Bethel Church of the Nazarene, and James Trainham officiating. Burial in the Lowville Rural Cemetery will be at the family’s convenience.

There will be no calling hours.

Memorials in Pam’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Pam, we got the results of your medical reports. I miss you soo soooo much. I am deeply hurt at myself that I thought differently. I should have trusted you more than I did. I wish there was a way to bring you back, we all miss you. We may not have been a close family but we were there when we needed eachother. Your passing has brought most of us closer. You had a beutiful funeral, many people were there to say their last wishes for you. I can only hope mine is just as nice as yours. Hopefully not for a very long time though. There is lots for me to do here yet. Untill that time I will think of you often and know that you are with Mom now. That was so comforting the morning of your funeral to know that you both are together. Lots of love for my favorite sister, my only sister.

My mother was an amazing person... I loved doing things with her... People would always pick on me because of my mothers size but I didn't care I still loved her. At times things where not the greatest however my mother tried to make the best out of it. I remember one ime before my grandmother passed away she took all her grandchirlden, sons, and daughters to dry hill and my mom was the only adult to go tubeing down the hill with us kids... that had to be th funniest day of my life... I made my mom go down lane five which is the most buppiest lane there is on dry hill however my mom didn't know that so she wasn't holding on and off the tub she went into the other lane... man was that ever funny... I must have been laughting for like a half hour...I have so many great memories of her... But out of all this I have learned to never take something for granted beause you can easily lose it...
