Memorial
This site is dedicated to the memory of Oscar and Norma Rodriguez.

Loving parents, supportive grandparents, and wonderful friends.

Oscar and Norma were the spark of life for their two daughters Normi Strickland and Jacqui Moore and great supporters to their two grandchildren Andrew Strickland and Erica Strickland.

Oscar and Norma instilled love and compassion into their entire extended family.

They loved to party with their friends and even in their retirement years, would still burn the midnight oil like they were teenagers.

You only had to meet Oscar and Norma once to have them make a permanent mark on your life and in your heart. They were loved by so many and will be missed by even more.

We love you Oscar and Norma...our lives will never be the same without your joyful and vibrant presence in our lives.

It is hard to believe that its been almost 4 years since they left us, so much has changed. I still think of them often and now my husband is gone too. But they will always be in our hearts and memories of the special people

Oscar and Norma opened their hearts and their home to my family. For the last three years, Melissa, Emily, and I spent Spring Break with Jacqui, and Oscar and Norma in Homestead. We ate well (they were the best cooks). We laughed and joked and stayed up late (but they were always up even later). We survived Oscar's driving. We have many great memories that we will treasure forever from those visits. As this year's Spring Break looms close, we are once again reminded of how very fortunate we were to have them in our lives, even for just a few years. We all miss Oscar and Norma so very much.

I have known Oscar,Norma, Normi and Jacqui for as long as I can remember. Our families have been connected forever. I don't have one particular story to tell, but just an observation of their lives. Oscar and Norma had a constant love for life and laughter! I don't remember a time when we were with them, that was not filled with both. Through endless dance parties in the basement, times in Panama City and just dinners with our families the love for life and laughter were always present. Oscar with his imitations, barks, and jokes. Norma with her forever smile and laughter. You had to laugh to be around them. It was contagious!
I am truly thankful that they played such a large part of my life and that they were such wonderful friends to my parents. We will miss their wonderful spirits and beautiful hearts.

"They will always have a special place in my heart. They never met a stranger and would always make you feel at home. Every time I smell coffee, I think of them. I miss them very much, and will never forget them."
