Nora Horten, 92, of Queens, New York, passed away on January, 13 2016, peacefully in her sleep.

The funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. at St. Rita Roman Catholic Church with burial following in the Calvary Cemetery in Queens, New York. Visitation will be held from 5:30-8:00 P.M. on January 22, 2016 and 10:30-11:30 A.M. on January 23, 2016 at St. Rita Roman Catholic Church.

Nora was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on July 6, 1923. She was the only daughter of Michael and Edith Goldberg. She attended college in North Carolina, where she met, and married, Johnny H. Horten on June 18, 1945. They were married for 55 years. During those years, Nora and Johnny had 5 sons; Walter, Thomas, Peter, Johnny Jr., and Samuel.

Nora worked as a manager for a bookstore for 17 years. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed spending time with her husband, sons, and other family members.

Nora is survived by her sons Johnny Jr., Walter, and Samuel. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lisa and Nicole; her great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jessica, David, and Laura. and other family and friends.

Nora is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Horten, and her sons, Thomas, and Peter.
