Nello Anthony Villas died on June 4, 2013, after a brief illness.He was born in New York City in the Bronx in 1923. His parents moved him and his sisters to a farm they owned in Italy shortly after the start of the Great Depression. Nello was a highly decorated World War II veteran who served in the Pacific Theater. He entertained his family by telling stories about his exploits in the Army and his life growing up. His loving wife Mary preceded him in death in 2009. He is survived by his two sisters Adrianna Sellecchia and Rina Trifoli, his three sons, Mark Villas, Bruce Villas M.D., and Gary Villas Esq.; his grandchildren, Mark Jr. and Beth; his extended family Glen Moore, Laurie Moore, and their children Heather, Marlayna, and Meranda and grandchildren Khloey and Abrianna. Nello was a gentle and kind soul who loved people, watching sports and movies on TV, and playing with his dogs Duke and Charlie. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Nello was laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery, in Augusta, Michigan. Full Military Honors were held on June 6, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. with Deacon Pat Hall officiating.
