Golf, reading, staying healthy and opera.
This site is dedicated to Nathan Kleiderman. He was a great man who was extremely generous with his family, friends and business associates. He was a fair, industrious businessman who worked for over 80 years of his life in the garment district of New York. He survived all his other brothers, sisters and his wife of 62 years, Myra Kleiderman.

He was still working in the garment district when he was 96 and if it hadn't been for an accident that left him incapacitated for months I believe he would still be here today! He was so tenacious he went back to work after recovering from the accident and was still working in sales from his apartment when he became ill for the last time.

Other important facts include a passion for photography in his younger years which resulted in 8 and 16 mm movies, boxes of prints, slides and negatives that we are working to archive for the family. He traveled in Europe extensively and was one of the first people to take a Transatlantic flight from New York on Pan Am. He and my grandmother cruised in first class on the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth over to England many times. These are things most people don't get to do.

He had a good life! I'll miss the times we have all had with him, enjoying a good meal, conversation and of course sipping espresso and Sambuca at the end of fabulous meal. He knew how to live well. Salut papa!

My family and I spent 3 weeks in Val De Lobo,Portugal with Nat and Myra in 1988 at Christmas and New Year. Wereally enjoyed their company and became very friendly during those 3 weeks. Nat and I had many games of golf during our holiday where he would munch through a pocket full of garlic and almonds. God Bless you both.

I have known Nat since the days I was attending FIT and working part time at my Fathers office., 108 west 39th street.
He was always so kind to me and willing to offer his untold amount of knowledge.
As years went by we had not seen each other. My father was the one who reconnected with Nat because of some laces problems we were having.
The following 10 years Nat and I became good friends, i enjoyed his company and stories.
He always told me we were so similar becasue of our love for Lace.
He truly loved this business and loved lace. I think for Nat as well as myself its not about the money so much but its about the product that you create and sell as well as who your customer is. Nat would tell me on many occasions about his different customers and how much he enjoyed working with them. He rarely had a miskind word to say about anybody,as long as you didnt take advantage and not pay him!
I learned so much from Nat and I am so glad to see this site for him. A day does not go by that if there is a piece of LAce in my hand I think of him. He was a true friend and mentor. Thank you Nat. Always and forever Christina
