This site is dedicated to the loving memory of Meiko Anthony Locksley. Meiko, son of Mike and Kia Locksley tragically passed away September 3, 2017 at the tender age of 25.

Meiko Anthony Locksley was taken from us on Sunday, September 3, 2017 in Columbia Maryland.

Meiko lived in Columbia for three years after his family relocated to the University of Maryland for the second time.

Meiko attended primary schools in Maryland, Florida, Illinois and New Mexico. He graduated from La Cueva High School in New Mexico in 2009 and then entered Youngstown State University where he engaged in his first love, football. Meiko also played football at Iowa Western, Lackawana College, New Mexico University and Towson University.

Meiko was a mild-mannered, exceptionally bright, and talented young man, reading at age 4. He learned to play the piano at an early age and when he was six or seven years old spontaneously began to play Christmas carols on a store piano at Costco. Needless to say, the customers were entranced along with his G-Mom. He also played piano at his uncle's wedding at the age of 8.

Meiko was also a talented actor. In addition to commercial assignments and movie parts, he performed at the Shakespeare Theatre in the Greek Tragedy Oedipus. Meiko’s favorite scripture was Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

Meiko is survived by his loving parents Michael and Kia Locksley, brothers Michael and Kai and sister Kori as well as grandparents Charles and Burnette Blandford, Venita Locksley, Michael Locksley (Marilyn) and great grandmother, Ruth Berry Dyson. Meiko is also survived by loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and nephews, friends who loved him as well as god parents, Tammy Curry and Marcellus Campbell.

He has goals in life
They don't know why

He doesn't cheat
They don't know why

He doesn't steal
They don't know why

He likes to watch musicals
They don't know why

He's not the African-American man they stereotype him to be

Job 14:14-15 tells us that the Creator 'has a longing for the work of his hands.'
Psalm 37:29 states that the righteous will possess the earth and reside forever on it. Hence, at Revelation 21:4, the Creator has promised all of us the resurrection and no more mourning and no more pain. May God's loving kindness comfort you and help you through this very sad time

My heartfelt condolences go out to your family. At Acts 24:15 and Psalm 27:29, our loving God puts before us the prospect of being reunited with our loved ones soon and living forever with them right here on the earth. May this promise bring you much comfort and hope during this difficult time.
