Chris and Dina, I TRIED TO SEND a letter before but it did not go through, so I WILL try again... I am thinking of you both and I am missing your mom.. I hope the blessings of Easter is with all of you. A Easter message to you........ GOD in heaven has chosen to bend near toward the earth to see our sorrow and hear our prayers. He is not so far above us that he is not touched by our tears.

Dear Melodye's Family,

Please accept my sincere sympathy, and know as her friend and classmate I will miss her dearly. Melodye and I grew up together, and the joy and smile she brought to everyone around her was contagious. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

Sincerely, Trudy

Chris and Dina, The service at the living rock church was WONDERFUL.. Again your Mom would of been proud. SO many people were there; so much love in one room. It was beautiful. God blessings on both of you... Jill you were a great part of the service and I know Meleody would of been so pleased....

Something about her countenance was always so refreshing. The few times I've been around her, I thought she was such a likeable person and ageless in that way. Very funny and fun to be around. But like at my party, she could be serious, too, about what she believed in. What great qualities for a mom to have...

The memorial you have created for Melodye is inspiring and deeply touching. My prayers are with you and your family. My 80 and 78 yr old parents remain actively involved in my small business. I can only imagine the devastation your mother's unexpected passing has brought you. Melodye is certain to be so very proud of you and your brother. Her wonderful spirit is alive indeed.

With deep sadness aisde, I recall aunt Dee's vibrance and vitality; and the joy of summers seeing cousins back east. Its so nice to see those pics from Saybrook beach...that's it, the moments etched in my mind! She shared a nickname with my mom, but her impressions were much more than that. Thankfully, I finally got to Nashville last year, and it was more imprints of her smile and happiness! Regardless of her pain and health, she couldn't be more pleased than spending time on the lake with her kids. May her eternal peace resemble that day! My prayers & love are with you all...

Thank you for sharing your mother's wisdom and light. The phrase 'I wait upon Your Spirit
To transform my finite tongue.' is especially meaningful and I take it to heart to uphold the memory of your mother's realization in life. Though I did not know her personally, we all share the same heart and are part of the same family, so we will meet eventually.

My heart is with you. May this time of your mother's harvest, when the fruits of the seeds one has planted in life are born, be also one of renewal for all who knew her, who benefit from her efforts and her example.

Dina,

I was in Franklin at The Factory for lunch in 2009 and stopped by your booth. I met you and we talked for awhile, then I admired your "doodles" and chose a couple of magnets.

Just wanted you to know that I lost my husband of 35 years 11 months ago and I can identify somewhat with your loss.

I also lost my Mother when I was about your age, and your description of your Mother reminds me of my Mom.

It is hard, I know, but the wonderful memories will always be with you.

Dina,
I am so sorry to hear about your Mother. I know what you are going through because I lost my Father this past year. I miss him every day, and know it is just so hard to lose a parent. It sounds like she was so proud of you, and she was so involved in your life. I know a little bit of her is in every drawing you do. By the way, my sister just loved the portraits of Guinness & Patrick and Miss Kitty!

I am so sorry to hear this news. I would like to represent my family, the Piampianos, when saying how sorry we all are for the loss of such a bright, compassionate, genuine woman. Her smile, like her heart, so gregarious and sincere you couldn't help but find yourself drawn to her. The last time I saw her was five years ago in the Disneyland Hotel celebrating our cousin Kim’s star on the Walk of Fame. I don’t remember the celebrities that showed up that night, nor do I remember the wine and cheese spread, but Melodye and her sweet, non-pretentious stories and her big hearty laugh stuck out in my mind. Her charisma lit up the room. Her voice was filled with loving praise for Dina and Chris. She was such good company to my parents and me that night. She will be greatly missed. Dina, Chris and Ray please accept our blessings and deepest sympathies.

Birth is a beginning
and death a destination
And life is a journey:... See More
From childhood to maturity
and youth to age;
From innocence to awareness
and ignorance to knowing;
From foolishness to desecration
and then perhaps to wisdom.
From weakness to strength or
from strength to weakness
and often back again;
From health to sickness
and we pray to health again.
From offense to forgiveness
from loneliness to love
from joy to gratitude
from pain to compassion
from grief to understanding
from fear to faith.
From defeat to defeat to defeat
until looking backwards or ahead
We see that victory lies not
at some high point along the way
but in having made the journey
step by step
a sacred pilgrimage.
Birth is a beginning
and death a destination
And life is a journey;
A sacred pilgrimage to life everlasting

I know that for certain because from a very young age I myself hoped to grow up and be just like you.... Thanks for being a pivotal figure in my life. Your mom sure did a good job....:)

Dina, here's how I remember your mom -

A vision shows in eyes of those
that see beyond confusion
the daily self delusion of our lives
in the quiet of their minds they see
the world as its supposed to be
in shades of love and light
their beacon shines
through the clouds of our despair
into the garden of our lives

I hope that vision reaches you in your despair now. I think she would have wanted it that way.

Peace to you and yours,

Chris,

I never met your mother, but having met you I can tell that she had to have been quite a wonderful person.

I pray that God will comfort you and your sister in this time of sorrow. Remember, Jesus cried at the loss of a loved one, so He understands. I'm sure He is by your side right now and, at the same time, welcoming your mother into her heavenly home.

I met Melodye 47 years ago, she was at the young age of 18. while I was to meet friends at the Sabrook Bowling alley, when I arrived, I made my way directly to the lanes where they were bowling in a league, and Melodye was just finishing up her turn at bowling. she caught my eye with her stunning beauty, with eyes that sparkled, and a smile that was as bright as her personality. I was introduced through a mutual friend, and we began dating and ultimately married and had two wonderful children. Melodye was an inspiration not only to myself, but my family as well, and to all that she met through out her beautiful life.
I will miss the times that the four of us have shared through out the years, whether it be the movies, boating on the lake, sharing dinner together, when I am coming through Nashville from Florida on my way to Connecticut, or for the Holidays, Chris and Dina always planned for all of us to be together as a family.

I will miss Meloyde dearly, she meant so much not only to myself but to all who was fortunate enough to have been in her life.

A Mother’s Love
© 2/19/07 Dina Capitani

(Dedicated to my mother whose love has truly been the most tender, compassionate and profound love I’ve ever known.)

Whose door is always open? A mother’s door
Whose heart is always broken? A mother’s
Whose hands are always giving? A mother’s hands
Whose love is all-forgiving? A mother’s

A mother’s love is like no other’s love
A mother’s life is like no other’s life
A mother’s arms are like no other’s arms
And when she smiles, the sun and moon subside

For they themselves abide
In a mother’s love

Whose eyes are always knowing? A mother’s eyes
Whose garden’s always growing? A mother’s
Whose words are always telling? A mother’s words
Whose soul is not for selling? A mother’s

A mother’s love is like no other’s love
A mother’s life is like no other’s life
A mother’s arms are like no other’s arms
And when she smiles, the sun and moon disarm

For they themselves are warmed
By a mother’s love

A mother’s love is like no other’s love
A mother’s life is like no other’s life
A mother’s arms are like no other’s arms
And when she smiles, the sun and moon subside

For they themselves abide
In a mother’s love

Aunt Dee was an Angel, always loving and sincere! Her beauty glowed and her entire aura was warm and fun! That smile was priceless! We are so grateful she came to our wedding in CA in June of '08, her presence was a gift and her words so real. She would always email us about our daughter Scarlet, even just a few days before she passed and we thank her for all her kindness. We are simply grateful to have known her and had her for an aunt! Our thoughts and prayers go out to Chris and Dina and all those who feel her loss. You were all there to help us grieve our parents loss and know that we are all here for you! Dear Gina, you were a very important part of my life in college and you will always be in heart. Even though I can not experience the same pain as you do I feel sat. I will pray for you as I know that there is strength in prayer and the Spirit will bring you peace. Reading about your mother was like reading about you. Your mother continues to live in that what she has taught you. That is your inheritance.

Your Mon wanted that you read Isaiah 41:13 at her funeral because she keep this words close to her heart. But please do not stop there. Read what comes afterward.

14 Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob, O little Israel, for I myself will help you, declares the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. 15 See, I will make you into a threshing-sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth. You will thresh the mountains and crush them, and reduce the hills to chaff. 16 You will winnow them, the wind will pick them up, and a gale will blow them away. But you will rejoice in the LORD and glory in the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 41: 14-16

Chris and Dina,
I send you both my love in your time of grief and pain.

I met Mel in early 2000, when I rented one of her rooms. We became fast friends the first day. We connected on a level that not very many people are able to achieve, the bond that her and I shared was beyond ordinary friendship.
I will always remember my dear dear friend as being the global light for all in need of friendship, a confidant, a shoulder to cry on, or someone to share a laugh with, just a pillar of strength, her eyes always shining bright with love, joy, and enthusiasm, (especially when talking about her children) always a reassuring smile, her heart as hugh as the planet earth, she was always there for those she loved and cherrished, in good and bad times. Mel was not afraid to go head to head for any cause or issue she strongly believed worth while. There was a bright spirit with in Mel, that, no matter how difficult the times were or the adversity, she never wavered in that spirit, she would say, GOD has a plan, How blessed I am to have my children Chris and Dina, the loves of my life" and Roxy (her beloved dog and companion)
Many a night her and I sat up until dawn the next morning talking and/or debating something or another, and just laugh or cry because the sun was rising and there we sat drinking coffee and talking.
I am so thankful to have had Mel spend time with me at my home in PS, to see her so relaxed, and to be able to take the journey from PS CA through Dallas TX to visit Scott (her nephew)and then on into Nashville TN.
The fun and laughter we shared, I can still hear her say, if Chris and Dina knew what we were doing they would flip, and she would bust into one of her spirited laughs, eyes full of happiness and joy, and just so happy to be going and doing she would say.
I often called us three's company ( Mel, Shirley, Kenneth-IE me) we have created a 3 way bond to last the test of time and eternity. the times we have shared together were ever lasting, thank you Mel, I love and miss you and you will forever be in my heart, and I know you are looking down on all of us with your glorious love and mothering heart.
Be happy in your journey home to God and your new life in heaven, where you so richly belong, now at peace with the beautiful angels surrounding you and welcoming you home, as you are now yourself an angel, as you were here to so many on earth!!!!
Missing and loving you Melodye AKA the ol goat lol

Dina and I were roommates in college and after ... when Melodye moved to Nashville she took me under her wing and was like a mother to me and was there for me and my son Scott for 7 long years!

I remember our first Thanksgiving together ... trying to cook a frozen turkey. I remember the endless times she would tell me what was right and I would do the complete opposite. I remember sharing our love of poetry. I remember her throwing me a 'good-bye' party when I moved back to PA.

We loved to laugh and cry and pray and dream of brighter days! Her faith was unshakeable and her spirit was a shining example of God's love.

I cherished the years we spent together and now I cherish them even more ... Melodye will be forever missed and never forgotten.

Love,

Our death is our wedding with eternity

What is the secret? "God is One."
The sunlight splits when entering the windows of the house.
This multiplicity exists in the cluster of grapes;
It is not in the juice made from the grapes.
For he who is living in the Light of God,
The death of the carnal soul is a blessing.
Regarding him, say neither bad nor good,
For he is gone beyond the good and the bad.
Fix your eyes on God and do not talk about what is invisible,
So that he may place another look in your eyes.
It is in the vision of the physical eyes
That no invisible or secret thing exists.
But when the eye is turned toward the Light of God
What thing could remain hidden under such a Light?
Although all lights emanate from the Divine Light
Don't call all these lights "the Light of God";
It is the eternal light which is the Light of God,
The ephemeral light is an attribute of the body and the flesh.
...Oh God who gives the grace of vision!
The bird of vision is flying towards You with the wings of desire.

Aunt Dee's deep love for the Lord was an inspiration to all. In good times and through trials her faith never wavered! We are sad to lose her but she is rejoicing with the angels to be in God's presence!

In my mind, I can still see my Aunt Dee as I did as a kid, young, pretty, dressed like Sandra Dee in all her 1960's style, flared skirts and cashmere sweaters..her teased blonde hair perfectly done, and how beautiful she always was, and when she and my uncle would arrive at our house or Grandma's, it was so exciting.. like a movie star couple they'd come in and the party began... they had such fun and passion to match. I loved her big laugh, and how she was pressent with you and always you felt like she really wanted to know you... In the last few years I am so grateful that she came to California a couple of times and we had some nice time to reconnect and I was so grateful for our friendship .. no b.s. there.. just honest sharing and caring.. what a wonderful woman.. I wish we would of had more time together...I will miss her always.. and Dina and Chris my heart goes out to you.. Love Kim

Melodye, truely a bright light upon us. Melodye, an inspiration and a friend to the artist within. Melodye, supporter of music and art, always had the biggest smile on her face as she watched you shine your light. "A Mothers Love" will always be remebered.

Thank You Melody for comming that we may know your light and your beauty. And thank you Dina for sharing this most precious treasure.

You will be remebered in our prayers.

I am so very sorry for your loss, Dina. This was so unexpected. I know how close you were to your mom. She was a lovely, affirming, and vivacious woman. I know her soul will continue to reverberate enthusiastically on the other side.

But in the meantime, my heart goes out to you and Chris as you work through your grief. Please know that I am here to help in any way you need--please don't hesitate to call whether in regards to arrangements that need to be made, or just needing someone to sit with you.

My dear friend, Dina, I pray for the Lord's peace and patience to be with you in this time of mourning.

Under His Mercy,
Mark

I only knew one side of Melodye. She was a tough, compassionate, honest human being whose capacity to see humor, even in thr darkest of times was an inspiration to me. She was my surrogate mother.

Dina, I know that mere words will not convey my sorrow for your loss. But please know that you and Chris are both in my prayers. It occurred to me that I've known your mom almost as long as I've known you and you're probably my oldest friend in Nashville.

Melodye was a bright light who's laughter was contagious and you have that same spirit within you, and she will always be that close.

It has always been clear what a strong bond you and your mom had and I know that she will be with you always.

And you know that if you need anything AT ALL, I'm just a phone call away.

With love and all my prayers,
~Marty
