Flower gardening, her dog Darla,
Nerita Juanell Hunter, 82, of Vernon Texas passed away Monday morning, June 4,2018 at her daughter’s home in Fort Worth after a valiant battle with cancer.

Juanell was born in Elmer OK on Aug.12, 1935, to James Merrill and Trula (Bartley) Hutchinson. She attended Southside School where she met Don Hunter who was to be the love of her life. They were married on July 15, 1950 in Altus Oklahoma. For a few years they resided in the Hess/Elmer area farming and she remained there while Don was in the Army. He returned home in 1955 and together they moved to Denver City Texas to settle and raise a family.

Juanell was employed by Southwestern Public Service as a Plant Clerk until her retirement in 1980. After 48 years in Denver City, they moved to Vernon to be nearer family. Having lost her vision to Macular Degeneration she continued to care for Don, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease, until his death in 2014. Don and Juanell were married an amazing 64 years. In March, 2018 she went to Fort Worth to receive Hospice care in her daughter’s home.

Juanell was a member of First Baptist Church in Vernon. She enjoyed flower gardening, decorating her home and spending time with family, friends, and her dear little dog, Darla.

She was preceded in death by her parents and dear husband, Don Hunter. She is survived by one daughter, Rockelle Hunter Munsch and husband John of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother, Hoyt Hutchinson and wife Mary, and sister Marcia Harlow and husband Guy. Also three grandchildren, Blake Hodges and wife Chelsea of Stephenville, Texas, Nicole and husband David Parkes of Denver, CO, and Alan Munsch of Dublin, CA; and three great- grandchildren, Madeline Corn, Ryan Parkes, and Jack Parkes.

Services at the Hess Baptist Church on July 14th at 2pm and burial in the Hess Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made in Juanell’s name to the Hess Cemetery Association or the Hess Baptist Church.

Special thanks to Kindred Hospice in Fort Worth. They were truly angels through her final days

Dear Hunter family,

My heartfelt condolences are extended to you all for the loss of your dear loved one, Juanell. May you find much comfort in the words of our loving heavenly Father, who has given us hope for our loved ones who have passed away. At John 5:28 & 29, God promises, “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his [Jesus Christ’s] voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life.” How we look forward to that wonderful time, when we will be reunited with our loved ones who have passed away! Until this loving promise is fulfilled, may the fond memories you shared with Ms. Hunter also bring you solace at this difficult time.
