Fishing, hunting, early American culture
This site is dedicated to James Ray (Jimmy) Thomas, JR. Son of Grace Thomas and James Ray Thomas, SR (deceased). Jimmy was a devoted son and after adventures abroad settled down in Soperton to help care for his widowed mother. He was a loyal brother and always looked forward to family visits. He was an avid fisherman and outdoors man, spending much of his free time on or near water. He was also fascinated with ancient Native culture and spent countless hours searching for artifacts. He was great friend to those that got to know him. He is and will always be missed.

"The heavens are declaring the glory of God; The skies above proclaim the work of his hands" (Psalm 19:1) and we humans are also the work of his hands. Thus, the Creator Jehovah God has promised all of us the resurrection and no more mourning and no more pain (Revelation 21:4) May God's loving kindness comfort you and help you through this very sad time (Psalms 29:11)

Dear Thomas family,

My sincere condolences are extended to you all for the loss of your dear loved one, James. My hope is that the following scripture will bring you comfort at this difficult time. Our heavenly Father promises that, by means of a resurrection, we will be reunited with our loved ones who have passed away. Please be assured that this promise will be fulfilled in the very near future. (John 5:28, 29)

Trish, this is such a lovely tribute. What a handsome man! I'm just so sorry that I didn't know about you earlier so that Bill and I might could have met Jimmy. Prayers that his friends and family find peace and comfort through good memories! Our love and blessing to you, Buff, and Mama Grace. 🌺

My condolences go out to Mr. Thomas’ friends and family. We all long for the time when Revelation 21:3, 4 will be a reality! At that time, our loved ones will live again and will be reunited with those who love them. Please be assured in the meantime, that the "God of all comfort" has the desire and ability to comfort you in your time of grief. 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4.

Jimmy is truly missed. He and Mike Peterson are fishing with the Captain of the Sea. I still remember the stripe. Lol, lots of good times. God I miss both of them. I am jealous because he got to fish with Mike before me.
