CPO Jack D. Stansell, age 77, born to Rev. Joe & Ruby Stansell in Anderson, S.C. was called home to the Lord on September 7th in Kent, WA. He is survived by his wife Doris, daughters, Debbie Pozzi (Tom), Terri Reavis (Brad), Kellie Molzhon (Jim), Jackie Holden (Joe), Becky Pudists (Steve), Cathy Stansell, his son Danny Stansell, sisters Francis, Barbra, Molly & Becky, brothers Joe, Donald, Lamar, David, Danny, 22 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His love for his family was immense. He served his country for 40+ years in the US Navy and was a member of Kent Jaycee’s (Pres.1965). He loved gospel music, golfing (with 2 witnessed holes-in-one) and a good Mariners game.

Family & friends are invited to a viewing at Marlatt Funeral Home in Kent, Sunday 12 – 3 p.m. A full military service will be held on Monday, Sept. 14th at 12:30 First Christian Church in Kent, followed by a procession to Tahoma National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation be made to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.

Jack was such a wonderful, happy guy. Always a twinkle in his eye and a laugh that wouldn't stop. He's in heaven for sure, telling a tale! I am honored to have served with him. My prayers are with his family, whom he loved.

Dick Guinn contacted me about Jack's death. I am so sorry. I had always hoped to make contact with him when we were in Seattle. He was a good friend and I have wonderful memories from across the years. I especially appreciated the friendship during those Kent-Meridian days. We had a lot of laughs together and great fellowship in the Lord! Please know we will be praying for all of the family and ask God's good comfort and blessings on each of you!

Matt O'Connell: Thank you for setting up this memorial to your Grandpa Jack. It's lovely to see all the nice comments and stories from family and friends. I have fun memories of talking to Jack about old time Kent and current events too at 4th of July gatherings at Tom and Debbie (Jack's daughter) Pozzi's house on Lake Meridian. To all the Stansell family, especially all the Stansell girls who grew up with my sisters, thanks for letting me share your dad/grandpa. Best wishes to all of you from Lori and me.

I only know the legacy that Jack left as a Kent Jaycee, he was a great volunteer and leader. I was told a few stories from past Jaycees about Jack and other Jaycess during the 60's and all the projects that they conducted. As a friend of Debbie's and a past Jaycee I would like to send the family my thoughts and prayers.
