To the many who knew and loved her, she was mom ,grand-mother, great-grand-mother friend, teacher and keeper of secrets, baker, quilt maker, and yes even trouble maker(as all grand-mothers can be)
FAYE as she liked to be called, lived her life on her terms. Uniting in marriage to a farmer
(harleigh dean stauffer) she and dean raised 6 kids, as well as hogs, cattle, and crops. She was a 4-H sewing teacher as well as a seamestress for her family.
Grand-ma's lead foot is legendary, just ask a grandchild who unbuckled in the front seat, has felt her car floating along the road as though it had wings, at a hundred or so. And saw the flashing lights and heard the sirens from a cop chasing grandma. And Gramma true to form never slowing down, or stopping.
And who has ever tried to call her when K U is on? Only to be hung up on? Or to come by and hear her cussing, at the top of her the lungs, at the coach or the players.
And who of us doesn't remember her roses or how much she fussed over them.
She made it home in time for Valentine"s Day with Grandpa Dean. Hope grandpa was ready with candy and flowers or there would be hell to pay.
