This site is dedicated to Gregory J Walton.
Gregory James Walton was born May 25, 1962 in Burbank, CA to Virginia Tyree Walton and James E. Walton. His only sibling was Sheryl A Walton Kelly, who was 5 years older.
Greg put up a valiant fight after he was diagnosed with Cancer in 2008, but finally succumbed to the disease on Thanksgiving Day, 2010. He was 48 years old.
The Walton Family lived in the San Fernando Valley, just north of Los Angeles CA for many years. This is where Greg grew up. During his young life he was very active as a cub scout, Indian Guide and played many different sports at the YMCA in their “Grey Y” program. He was well liked and friendly with all of the neighbors on Vincennes St. who treated him like family. He was especially close to the Maki family who lived next door, and who were his God parents.
In 1985, Greg graduate from Cal State in Northridge where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Right after college he started his business career at the Keebler Company as an accountant. After serving his apprenticeship with them, he was transferred to the Raleigh, North Carolina in 1987.
Greg loved the Carolinas so much that he continued to live there. In 2008 he purchase a beautiful, new home and moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Unfortunately right after he bought this home he was diagnosed with cancer. So he was never able to enjoy the fruits of his labors or settle into his new life style.

We knew Greg for only a short two years, and they were pleasant ones. He lived across the street from us in Myrtle Beach, SC. We spoke with him about his work, his yard and stuff in general. Dispite the many difficult and unfortunate events that took place in his life, he did always smile and was good natured. We worked the voteing polls this past November and sure enough in walks Greg ready to do his civic duty!! He said he wanted his voice heard no matter what else was going on..That was Nov.11, 2010. He will be missed.

For Jim, Mickey and Family...
Tomorrow isn't promised and so we never know
Who among us gets to stay and which of us must go
It's always hard to say goodbye to one who meant so much
We know we'll never be the same without his gentle touch
In the dark of the night and the rise of the sun
You know beyond a doubt Greg was the special one
At times like now we wonder why life seems so unfair
But have love for one another and say a quiet prayer
Greg wouldn't want us sad, so dry your sorrow tears
We have such precious memories to last throughout the years
Keep thoughts of Greg deep in your hearts and you'll never be alone
He'll always be a part of you since Angels took him home

I worked beside on Greg at Honda Power Equipment
in Swepsonville,NC. He did his work with pride,
and was the most financial knowledgeable person
I have known. Greg was so likeable and I never
knew him to talk in at hateful manner about anyone. I also kept in contact with Greg, I talked last to him about a week before his death. I and my wife went to Myrtle Beach
this past fall because I knew he wasn't doing
well. We went to lunch at a place he liked and
to took us to the boardwalk. As sick as he felt
he went out of his way-that was the way he was.
He was the type of person that you just felt the
the world was better place just because he was in it. He told what life gave him like a champion. His death hurt me more than any, not
that I didn't love my parents but it was their
time. I just wanted so much more for him. I will
miss him and never forget him. I look forward to
seeing him again in the next life. Love you Greg.

Our Uncle Greg will be deeply missed. He was a great Uncle, genuinely interested in our lives. Never forgot a holiday or birthday and was always ready with a smile. I loved to listen to his cali-carolina accent when he came to visit. We will always miss you Uncle Greg!

I knew Greg from Sheri. I thought a lot of Greg, and thought he had such a wonderful disposition in life. I shall miss seeing him from time to time, and be able to talk with him. A truly wonderful human being.

"Greg and I had some some good times, from putting toys together before x-mas to just sitting and having a talk. I am sad that this had to happen to this soul with lots of life in his heart. He will be missed but not forgotten."
