GRANT HAMILTON BELDING, born in Houston on July 28, 1980, passed away in Houston on April 27, 2009, at the age of 28.
Grant contracted a rare autoimmune disease at age 12 which contributed to debilitating health consequences thereafter, including renal failure at age 22. Grant consistently displayed courage and good humor in spite of chronic health issues.
Grant was a masterful storyteller. He wrote, produced and directed three short films during his college experience in Los Angeles. Grant had a passion for golf and spent much of his youth on the course with friends and his dad.
Grant was blessed with special friendships and support from numerous people wherever he lived including many life long family friends, his much loved "Small Group" at Ecclesia Church in Houston, friends from Los Angeles where he attended college, as well as those from earlier school days.
Grant is survived by his parents, Nancy M. Belding, and David H. Belding and wife, Susan, who reside in Houston; and step-brother and sister-in-law John F. and Elizabeth Jeffers. Additionally, Grant is survived by his grandparents, Charles and Mildred Matheny of Granite, Oklahoma and Virginia H. Belding of Marble Falls, Texas; aunts and uncles, Jerry and Elaine Gibson of Santa Barbara, California, Tom and Jody Belding of Roswell, New Mexico, and Melanie Belding of Stephenville, Texas.
