In Sept of 1990, Sgt Romans was the first person ever to call me a US Marine. He took a shy, linky 18 yr old kid and created a Marine. During the 3 months of training, Sgt Romans instilled all of the traits that a Marine holds dear along with a strong loyalty to the man that made me who I am today. There has not been a day since then that I have not remembered my Senior Drill Instructor, nor will I ever forget him. To his family: I cant imagine what you must feel to lose such a great man. My deepest heart felt sympathy go to you all.
