Miss you 😘 so much! My confidant, I need to talk to you. No one can ever take your place. It’s hard to believe that it’s been over 2 years! I wish you could have met Orchid & Allie. You would have loved these little girls, my canine companions, and they would have loved you.

Eleanor's ashes were interred June 14 2016 within our Mom's gravesite at Forest Lawn when Edna was here:
Gravesite of Agnes Funk,
Section: Ascension Lot 338 Space 6
Forest Lawn
3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby BC tel. 604 299-7711
Just confirmed today by Forest Lawn that the plaque was installed July 15 2016 BUT no one there notified either Louise or me as they had told us at the time of the arrangement and that it would take 3-4 mos.

Our sympathies go out to Eleanor's brothers, sisters, extended family, and friends.
Eleanor and I were born in the same year and we joked in our adult life how we were the most unlikely set of twins in the family. I know how deeply saddened her sister / my mother / Edna feels about Eleanor's passing, as I'm sure the rest of the family is feeling. It is with a heavy heart that I say good-bye to my Aunt Eleanor.
Sending our thoughts and prayers Kate and Charlie

Dearest Aunt Eleanor,

You were always our 'coolest' Aunt, from my earliest years when you became known as ET after that beloved creature...a special, wise and caring being from out of this world! I loved your infectious sense of humour, your pragmatic nature, and your sense of righteousness and justice. I always looked up to you and can still see and hear your smiles and sparkles in your eyes, as though you always had a secret joke you were wanting to share. Your sensitivity and jovial openness will truly be missed. Anna and I just wish you could have met your new great niece Lena Grace Woolliams, please look down on her and us and check in from time to time. All our love. Guy, Anna, & Lena xoxoxo

It is sad that we didn't have opportunity to be close over the years, but I do have childhood memories and am so glad you have had such support from your siblings who are missing you so deeply.
Sincerest sympathies to all my cousins and family that were so close to our dear Eleanor.

Hey Auntie
I have so many good memories of Christmas dinners at your apartment - it always felt warm and welcoming there and we always seem to enjoy ourselves so much. Thanks for helping teach me to love that time of year. Your smile is still what I see when I think of you – say hi to Dad for me and tell him I will see you both again later.

Dear Aunty ET, you are so missed- especially your infectious laugh which made me (and everyone else) smile with you.
I want to thank you for being so supportive of me over the years. I have such great memories of you helping me transition into university and celebrate my wedding and the birth of my son Landon. But I am especially grateful for the love, support and encouragement you gave to my sister. You were so often the one family member who could understand her when others including me couldn't. So an eternity of thank you's to you ET our very special "Red Aunt".

You gave me this poem:
After a while you learn the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul.

And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning,
and company doesn’t always mean security.

And you begin to learn that kisses are not contracts,
and present's aren’t promises.

And you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead...

With the grace of a woman,
not the grief of a child.

And you learn
To build all your roads on today,

Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans,
and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.

After a while you learn that even sunshine burns
if you get too much…

So, you plant your own garden,
and decorate your own soul...
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

And you learn that you really can endure…
you really are strong,
you really do have worth.

And you learn, and you learn…
with every goodbye,

You Learn…

Thank you ET XXOO

ET! That laugh! that taste for beautiful and tasty things. That discipline you taught me to take care of myself financially. As a single woman, that's been priceless. That support you gave me at traumatic times, and at teenage tearaway times. You've taught and loved. For this the world and our family has been richer. I love you.

You are the 11th child in our family of 12 and now you are the first angel.
We enjoyed and shared many activities - tennis, skiing, sailing, Christmas and our love of Cocker Spaniels. You will always be my baby sister and will forever be in my heart as you watch over us.

Dear Eleanor,
I remember the joy we had when we were with you: my children Catherine, Charles-Edouard and my husband Michel. We are cocker's lover since we met your Buddy. We remember all things we have done with you in Vancouver and in Montreal ; it is just good souvenirs. I'm sure, from where you are, you will protect your family and friends especially your sister Diana who were very close to you and introduce you to us. Rest in peace.
