Doreen Roberts was born on the 30th of November, 1933 to Judith and Samuel Cox in Plaisance Village, ECD, Guyana, SA. She married Clement Roberts(now deceased). This union produced five children; Pauline (deceased), Grace, Keith, Desire (known as Joan) and Mark.

Doreen recieved her Primary School education in Plaisance Village, ECD. After primary school she attended Day Commercial High School in Georgetown. During this time Doreen answered a call to the medical profession and completed studies as a Nurse and Midwife. She served in these capacities with the Guyana Sugar Corporation.

In 1970 Doreen migrated to the USA and continued in her profession as a Registered Nurse serving at prestigious institutions such as the Downstate Medical Center, King's County Psychiatric Center, Brooklyn Hospital and Inter Faith Medical Center to name a few.

May her soul rest in peace.
