I'm only sad because I will miss our visits so much. It's so hard to let go of the only way I've known. I've had you to turn to my whole life- nearly 40 years. I'm getting old too. I can't even imagine being nearly 100 years old! Who does that? My grandpa does!- with such dignity, courage and love like I've seen from no other. Your humor has enlightened so many moments. The wisdom and experience you shared enlightened my journey. You've led us by example, relentlessly working to always give your all in everything you do. Did I mention, how funny you are? So enjoyable to be around, whether talking about those damn “Limees” or imitating wrestlers like the “The Claw”- who, because of you, I know marched like those ugly German soldiers. You will forever make me smile. You've always had a special way to be kind no matter what you have to say. Like last week when you were tired and you told me that you didn't want to hold up my day and you KNOW I don't want to hold up your day. :) I know you were so tired grandpa, what an amazingly long life! I know you stayed extra long because you loved me that much. So I have to be strong now, like you taught me- “be a man not a mouse.” I will miss our beers, cheers and you wiping my tears but you will live in my heart and spirit por vida!

My heart is filled with so much love and memories of my very special Grandfather. How blessed my children, husband, and I have been to have such an amazing man in our lives for so long. There have been so many things he taught us, like to respect ourselves and others, honor, selflessness, courage, and that hardwork builds pride, but most of all he taught us what it means to be loved. He glistened with pride when his family walked in the door. One thing I know for sure is when my grandpa died he knew how much we loved and appreciated him and he also knew all the years he unconditionally loved and supported each of us, truly paid off. Grandpa, i know your love and support doesn't stop here, i feel safer than ever knowing you are an angel by our side.

This song will always remind me of my amazing grandpa. He was so incredibly positive and chose to see the bright side of life during every single moment that he lived it. I also remember this song playing on the radio when he drove me around in his blue Nova when I was kid. He said that this song reminded him of when he was "in the war". Love you grandpa.

**Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive**

Gather 'round me, everybody
Gather 'round me while I'm preachin'
Feel a sermon comin' on me
The topic will be sin and that's what I'm ag'in'
If you wanna hear my story
The settle back and just sit tight
While I start reviewin'
The attitude of doin' right

You've got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
And latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between

You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith or pandemonium's
Liable to walk upon the scene

To illustrate my last remark
Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark
What did they do just when everything looked so dark?

(Man, they said "We'd better accentuate the positive")
("Eliminate the negative")
("And latch on to the affirmative")
Don't mess with Mister In-Between (No!)

Grandpa, I love and miss you. I will forever cherish the memories I have of you (taking us to feed the ducks at Webster lake, "ketchup car, mustard car, yellow car," all your funny nicknames for people, and war stories). You remain one of the kindest people I have ever known. There is no doubt how many lives you touched. While I'm sad to no longer see you, I celebrate your incredible 96 years and the fact that you are now at peace, watching down on us from Heaven.

With love,

Toni
