Darlene P. Wabbington,daughter of Ross W. Wabbington, Sr.(deceased) and Rose M. Wabbington was born in Demopolis,Alabama on March 7,1962.She suddenly departed this life to be with the Lord early in the morning of March 19,2009.

Darlene grew up in Coatopa,Alabama.She was reared in a Christian home and joined Mt. Tabor Baptist Church,under the pastorate of Reverend William M. King at an early age where she confessed Christ as her Savior.

Darlene attended schools in Livingston, Alabama, graduating from Livingston High School in 1980.After graduation from high school,she entered Tuskegee University,with a major in Physical Therapy.After several years at Tuskegee,Darlene transferred to the University of Houston where she continued to major in Physical Therapy.She later married Wilfred Thomas and from that union, a devoted son,Wilfred Michael was born.

Darlene later moved to Washington, D.C.,where she devoted her life to raising her son,helping him with his school work and began her career in the health care field.For many years she worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant and later as the Activity Coordinator for a number of health care facilities.She was employed at Sunrise Assisted Living,Inc. in Frederick,Maryland at her untimely death.

Darlene was a beautiful,loving and giving person.We will miss her wonderful glowing smile, laughter and she will live in our hearts forever.She was extremely hard-working,generally "fun-to-be-around" and devoted to her son,family and friends.Everyone who met her loved her-immediately.

Darlene's brother, Michael C. Wabbington preceded her in death.

Darlene leaves to mourn her passing;a devoted son, Wilfred Michael(Mike) Thomas;a loving mother,Rose M. Wabbington;sisters Carol Wabbington,Patricia(Donald) W. Silvey and Denise(John) W. Williams;brothers Ross(Loydleeta) W. Wabbington and Alvin R. Wabbington;aunts Bertha Wabbington Williams and Faye M. Green;uncle Jacob Michelic,Jr.;a number of nieces and nephews to whom she was deeply devoted and who loved her dearly;many special cousins;a devoted and special friend,Stanley Walden;a host of relatives and friends.

Darlene P. Wabbington will be greatly missed but always alive in our hearts.
