She was so very helpful as a Board Member of our
Rotary Club during my presidency. Especially while at the entry desk, during meetings, greeting members with her beautiful smile and her "Welcome to Beaverton Rotary". She was an outstanding Rotarian exemplifying "Service Above Self".

Darlene will be remembered for her genuine caring for others. She always had a word of encouragement, a helping hand or a warm smile to give. Her memory is certainly a beacon of light that will always shine in the hearts of those who knew her.

Will always remember when Darlene and my wife without me put a toilet in doing our remodeling. Ever since then I called her every time that I had a problem with plumming. She used to say do not do that and leave $9 for the bottle......as time went on she said you still owe for the last time...or you are paid in advanced . She was always trustworthy, knowledgeable, laughed when appropriate..just a neat woman. It was always a pleasure to call her even if it was just to say hello. jack

The Rainbow Bridge
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of The Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass.
When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food, water, and warm spring weather. The old and frail are young again. Those maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.
There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth. So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up. The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!
You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet, you take him into your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting friend.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated. - author unknown-
It gives us comfort to know Darlene has crossed the Rainbow Bridge with Boomer, Lucky, and Courtney. She will forever be in our hearts and memories.

Darlene was a bright spot in many people's lives. Even without having read what people have expressed here and in email, I know that there are fewer and fewer people like her, and the world is worse for it. She was kind in ways that most people aren't: she overlooked (or was gently humorous about) faults and foibles in people, and was a positive, encouraging, and loyal friend. If you were a dog or a person that had Darlene on your side, you had it all. I remember so many good times with Darlene, even the conversations as we walked along behind a dog we'd let loose to run and hunt, dog and human alike in our own comfortable element. Darlene, I am at peace knowing you are home with the Lord, but I'll miss you just the same. 'Til we meet again, then. Love, Julia

Words can't express the deep sadness we feel at the news of Darlene's passing. Our hearts go out to you Jeff and family for such a deep loss. The world has lost a wonderful friend and champion. I will miss her smile. The warmth and friendliness of both Jeff and Darlene that has meant so much to my husband and I will never be forgotten.
