Claudia's obituary will run in the Sunday Oregonian on June 19.

Here it is:

A celebration of life was held June 11, 2016, in Georgetown, Texas, for Claudia Bailey who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Claudia was born in Portland to June and Vern Bailey. She attended Beaumont grade school, Grant High School '62 and the University of Texas '66. A pioneer in the computer industry, Claudia's sales/management career was spent at IBM and Digital Equipment Corporation. She retired in Texas where she worked in real estate, voter registration and her local Republican club. Claudia is survived by her brother, Bruce (Judy); niece, Alison (Chris); a wonderful cousins. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift in Claudia's honor to your local human society or favorite cancer-fighting cause.

Thank you again to everyone who attended her celebration and to the stunning show of support in the months leading up to her passing.

She will continue to live on in our hearts and inspire us all to live the fullest lives possible. We love you Claudia!

“There is going to be a resurrection......” (Acts 24:15) The pain, the grief, and the feelings of helplessness can seem unbearable. May Jehovah the God of all comfort comfort the Bailey family. You are in my prayers.

Claudia was a friend for over 40 years; we kept in touch wherever we lived. She was smart, funny, and generous. I will fondly remember the experiences we shared and her beautiful smile. Here's to you, Claudia, well done.

Claudia and I were childhood friends for over 60 years. Our theme song was "Side by Side" and we loved to sing and perform and share great times together. She was one of my dearest and most cherished friends in grade school, high school and throughout our life's journey.
A favorite memory: Claudia opening our Grant High Spring Show singing "Everything's Coming up Roses". She was our bright and shinning star.
I will miss her and I will be forever blessed by the friendship we shared.
Love and Prayers to Bruce, Judy, Alison and Family

"I was a young sales rep at DEC when she became my manager. She taught me so much and not just about sales, but about life. We laughed and shared good times as much as work. I love her for all she gave me and will always remember her fondly."

"Claudia was a good friend and will be missed. She shared a Christmas a couple of years ago. My daughter and her family enjoyed her company, and they were saddened to hear of her passing. She always did a good job of everything she participated in."
