Memorial
Rev Bryan Victor McKitty, retired minister, and missionary of the Wesleyan Holiness Church from the parish of Westmoreland, died on April 20, 2017 at the Savanna-la-mar Public Hospital, Jamaica. He leaves behind his wife, of 51 years, Pearline McKitty; daughters Dahlia McKitty-Jackson, Grace McKitty, Nadine Williams, Lesa-Anne Hillen, and Esther McKitty-Griffin; sons-in-law Lascelles Jackson, Rev Orville Williams, Frank Hillen, Caleb Griffin; granddaughters Kezia, Jodi-Ann and Micah; grandsons Immanuel, Jadon, Daniel, Yannick, Joel, Jonas and Henry; great-grandson Malachi, sisters Sonia Stewart and Pauline McKitty-Robinson and several nieces and nephews.

Rev McKitty accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 1959 and immediately answered the call to serve in the ministry. He served in the Wesleyan Holiness church for 57 years as Pastor, District Youth President, District Superintendent, Marriage Officer and the first missionary from the Wesleyan church to Belize, Central America.

During his years of service, he pastored 17 churches where he was dearly loved and was also a father to many. His passion was reaching the lost for the Kingdom. This was evidenced by the messages he preached about salvation and the times he spent in the communities witnessing to them about where they will spend eternity. One of his favorite hymns was “Rescue the Perishing”. After retirement, Rev McKitty had some health challenges, but he remained busy mentoring young pastors and counseling church members until his passing.

In addition to pastoring, Rev McKitty’s favorite pastime was hunting birds and his entire family always look forward to enjoying the tasty treats.
Rev McKitty had a great love for his family especially his grandchildren. He spent a lot of his time talking to them on video chat or Skype. He was a great husband, Father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be greatly missed. However, we know that if we have a relationship with Jesus Christ just like he did, we shall all see him again in heaven.

Spiritual Father, Mentor, Man of God extraordinaire. Very soft spoken yet his words of wisdom continue to echo in the mind of all those he mentored. A Quintessential of his time. Will always be in our hearts. Indeed he has "Changed Guard" (one of his chapel sermons-"The Changing of Guard")I have promised him to be faithful on my "shift" while I
rescue the perishing, care for the dying and snatch them in pity from sin and the grave. I will weep o'er the erring ones, lift up the fallen, I will tell them of Jesus the mighty to save. For I know mercy will be granted for Christ sake. Rest Well my father and friend.

Rev. B. V. Mckitty, a stalwart, a TRUE man of God, an icon, always armed and ready for battle. A life well lived for King Jesus. To Grace and family, keep standing tall like the palm 🌲. Some sweet day we'll all be reunited when Jesus returns. Sleep on Rev. Bryan V. Mckitty.

I am overwhelmed. What he did to me once travelling out of town, donkey's years ago,I'll never forget and omteen times Ihave related it to others. I am now doing the same in my retired years. Thank God for having met him. He has certainly helped to fashion my life particularly as a motorist. I only have to reflect on him and all I can do is 'Good'

Thanks again to Rev. McKitty; of blessed memory.

"I can remember Rev Mckitty in the 80's, I was saved under his Ministry. He was a beautiful man, when he was the pastor of Hatfield he would load us up in his van and take us to Rally. His message never ended without saying may God have mercy 4 Chris"
