Bonnie Burris

October 26, 1949

July 7, 2017

In memory of Bonnie Burris who was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had an unshakable walk with Christ that filled her life, and was shared with everyone she met. Bonnie had a burning desire to help others, something she gave to the world until her last day. The past few years she spent in Florida which gave her a break from the cold and allowed her family to finally take care of her. The time spent and bonds created during this time were woven with the peace and grace of God.
Bonnie was loved by everyone who knew her, and changed the lives of those she came in contact with. She was ready to go home, her longing to be reunited with her family and the Lord she served was proudly anticipated. Bonnie had suffered physically most of her life, and certainly withstood more than most could bare emotionally. This never changed her character. She only grew in her dependence on God, the dignity with which she lived her life, and the peace she exuded while facing her final days. It is an honor to know someone as Bonnie. She taught the world how to love, and that although it rains on the just, God is still good.

Oh Bonnie, how I already miss you. I must have thought a hundred times this week "i gotta call and talk to Bonnie about this". You were, and remain, my hero. The grace with which you walked through your life astounds me, comforts me, humbles me. You showed me how to live life with faith no matter how hard it was. Our hearts were knit together. I trusted you. You always told me the truth and delivered it with such kindness. Your heart was so big anyone could find love there. So nonjudgemental. So pure. You pursued your life's love, our Lord, for a lifetime. I love you so much. I am so very happy for you to finally go be with Him and leave your broken body behind. But I'll miss you. Every day. I'll see you there.
