Memorial
This site is dedicated to Billie Lloyd "Pops" Goodman.
On April 13th, 2009 Bill L Goodman (78) was greeted at The Gates by his loving wife Donna, his second son, Jimmy, and his faithful dog, “Harley”.
Bill blessed this world on February 11, 1931 in Sepulpa, Oklahoma to Lewis Sr. and Sylvia Goodman. He was one of four children. He led an exciting and adventurous life, having traveled the U.S. “stepping a toe in every state”.
On Feb.13, 1949 he married the love of his life, Donna Marie Gibson. They had five children, Billy Lloyd Jr., James Duane "Jimmy", Gary Michael Sr., Ricky Dale and Tina Marie. They settled in southern California in 1957 to raise their family. They were happily married for 23 years before Donna passed.
Bill had several successful business ventures; He was a precision machinist, a professional plumber, a carpenter/contractor and an auto upholsterer. When Bill retired, he went to worked for Kevin at the Cedar Ridge Y Gas Station "for a little something to do."
In 1983, Bill moved to Nevada City, with his Son & daughter-in-law, Gary & Claudia Goodman and their family, where he lived out the rest of his life. Billy Jr., Ricky and Tina later moved to Nevada City to be with family.
In his younger years, Bill loved riding motorcycles, spending time outdoors, going boating and fishing. He also loved working on classic cars. He was very family oriented, working several of his businesses with his sons and daughter, vacationing with them and just being there when they needed him.
Bill’s life is being celebrated by his sons, Billy Jr., Gary Sr., his wife, Claudia, Ricky (Nevada City), and daughter, Tina, her husband Greg Miller (Bridgeport). Sundays w/ Gpa
Every Sunday grandpa would come over to make sure I was "up and at em". Sunday's were our days! He would drive me to town and take me to church, although he always had laundry to do and wouldn't go ...
