Memorial
This site is dedicated to Bennie Smith.

Bennie loved spending time with his family, playing golf, and listening to music. My Way by Frank Sinatra represents how Bennie did things. He did everything with vigor and always, without exception, did it his way.

Bennie was an athlete with every fiber of his being. After graduating from Frederick Douglass Senior High School he played minor league baseball with the Milwaukee Braves (now Atlanta Braves) before serving our country with the United States Army.

After returning from an honorable discharge, he stayed physically active but was never able to return to baseball.

Later in life, he developed an interest in golf and played regularly at Forest Park, Pine Ridge in Maryland.

Please take a moment to sign the guest book and share your fondest memory of Bennie.

Rabiah, please know that you and Michelle are in my prayers. I remember your father way back in the day and I know you and your sister adored him. Hearing your stories of him and your relationship with him reminds me of how much my father meant to me. Keep moving forward and being the role model and diva your father helped build up in you. You are making a difference in your world because of the strength he, your mom, and grandmother cultivated in you. I love you!

Dear Rabiah, my beloved friend,
I've never had the chance to meet your father, but you spoke of him to me. You shared with me the closeness of the dynamic trio with such an amazing smile. I knew then as I know now that you are greatly loved. I know the midnight calls may have changed but your daddy's presence is still with your heart. You are forever M.T.A.B.L.H. I love you my sister friend -CH

To the Family of Mr. Smith,
I am truly sorry for the loss but I do know that the love that has been shared over the years and his lifetime will always be treasured amongst each other and it will never die. To Rabiah, we ( your friends ) do know of your undying love for your father and we all know that he lives in you and that love has been shared and spread to all of us from you and your personality. I'm sure that I speak for many of us by saying that we all are here for you as Friends and Family.
