This site is dedicated to Archie Gillett.

Archie passed away peacefully in his home on October 9, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his "Babe" Jeanne Londe, his loving family and many life long friends.

Archie was a real gentleman; loving husband, wise and gentle father and adoring grandfather - loved and respected by everyone he met. He served with the US Air Force in WWII, worked in prop-making and special effects on legendary film sets.
Having committed himself to a myriad of local causes including Physicians for Social Responsibility, Rocketdyne Coalition, Progressive Democrats (San Fernando Valley Chapter), he remained brilliant and relevant until the end of his full life.

Although I only had the pleasure of meeting Archie a handful of times over the years, and exchanged annual greeting cards for awhile -- until it became unfashionable, his great warmth, humor, kindness and generosity of spirit really came through. He stood out as example that it is possible to sensible in this world and still be caring and decent. Good bye Archie. I feel I am a better person for having met you.

I've known Archie over the past decade or so through his membership in political organizations, most recently PDA/SFV. He and Jeanne offered their home for many meetings. Archie didn't always say much but when it did it was relevant and informative. I am so sorry to hear he will no longer be with us. He will be missed. Deepest condolences to Jeanne and the Gillett family.

Archie was a kind & gentle soul. He was loved by all that met him. I loved hearing the wonderful stories he shared. If anyone ever needed assistance he was always there to help. I could truly say I Will miss him more than words could ever say. I am so blessed he was in my life for 37 years. I love you SO much, Archie!

My deepest sympathies are extended to the Gillett family for the loss of your dear loved one. I pray that God's promise at Acts 24:15 gives you much comfort and a hope for the future. Very soon, all those who have passed away will be resurrected right here on the earth, and God holds out to us the prospect of enjoying everlasting life with them. (Psalm 37:29) May you look forward to being reunited with Mr. Gillett at that wonderful time.
