This site is dedicated to Ann Champley.

She passed away in her home on Saturday, November 1, 2008.

Ann leaves behind her husband, Alex, her children Colleen, Bonnie and Michael and her grandchildren, Randy, Brian and Rebecca.

The first day of November is traditionally observed as All Saints' Day.

On this day the Church — particularly Western Christendom — remembers those who have finished the course of this life in faith and are now at rest with the Lord.

On All Saints' Day, we thank God for the faith of our fellow saints and for their example in the Christian life. But most of all, we praise God for His faithfulness to His saints, keeping them in His merciful favor. God promises to be faithful to us just as He has been faithful to our fellow saints before us.

The day came about in large part because of a glut of canonized saints, including many of the martyrs of the early centuries, in the Roman Catholic Church. So many had been established that the calendar overflowed with saints' days. Therefore, the Church combined many of the "lesser" saints and moved them to the joint commemoration we still celebrate on 1 November.

All Saints is celebrated in many third world countries as a time to remember, but importantly a time of celebration. The picture of their loved ones is displayed along with candles, flowers and foods that the loved one liked. Everyone gathers together for a celebration. They believe their loved one comes and joins in the celebration. Stories are told, dancing and music. It is a wonderful time.

How fitting for Aunti Ann to leave us on this day!!! She will be missed, but she will always be in our hearts!!!

God’s Garden

God looked around His garden
And found an empty place
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face

He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best

He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain,
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb
So He closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered “Peace Be Thine.”

It breaks our hearts to lose you
But you didn’t go alone.
For part of us went with you,

The day God called you home.

Grandma, I will miss you so much!!
All my love Rebecca

Ann was someone who always made sure you were included in the family gathering or just stopping by to visit. She always was focused on others and making them feel special. At the memorial service as they sang the song "Make Me a Channel of Your Peace", it became apparent as I listened to the words that this was Ann, she had indeed accomplished this in her life. It is only fitting that her passing was on All Saints Day! Now she has a heavenly body and can see us all until we meet again!
