Memorial
An Angel of the Lord who continues to impact so many lives, Ajene “Aj” Pierre Mohr, born on December 5, 1970 was a proud, kind, warm-hearted, generous, dedicated, fun-loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle, Godfather, Godson, cousin and friend who was full of love and laughter.

Aj’s spirit continues to grace us in different ways now. His beautiful and strong spirit continues to exude within each of us a passion for life, requirement for laughter, and unconditional love. A beautiful smile, a hearty laugh, a passionate father, loving son, caring brother, and loyal friend, Aj strongly carried these traits and continues to do so as many remark that these are just some of the things that immediately come to mind when they think of Aj and the essence of who he was as a father, a man and a friend and who he is now as a strong and loving spirit that remains in our hearts.

We continue to hear of many stories of how Aj has helped people in various ways and that is exactly who Aj was- a person who would help others. He was good natured, funny, loving, kind, warm, smart, bright, athletic, determined, strong willed, passionate and loyal.

Aj’s life revolved around his children Marina and Ramon. He reveled in that the children have obtained some really incredible academic and athletic achievements. Humbled and proud of Marina’s and Ramon’s accomplishments, Aj was deeply elated and passionate about all that his children set out to do and accomplished at such young ages. Seventeen years old and a senior at Eagle Rock high school, Marina has aspirations to attend U.C. Santa Barbara to pursue journalism in the Fall of 2014. Eleven years old and a sixth-grader at Rockdale Elementary school, Ramon is set to graduate in the Fall of 2014. Ramon has received an Academic Achievement Award this school year as we are so very proud of him.

During this difficult time, we may find solace in knowing that Aj loved his children immeasurably and spent all available opportunities to let them know he absolutely loved and adored them and expressed his love in abundance. For Aj, the sun rose and set on the essence of all that represented his beloved children, Marina and Ramon. Loving his children, family and friends immensely and to the ends of the earth, Aj was a strong spirit and soul that spoke to many during this lifetime and even after. This was very much his character- full of laughter, life, love and determination. In life, Aj was determined to work as hard as he could to help ensure that his children, Marina and Ramon would have what they needed to succeed in all that they ventured to do, especially in their educational and athletic aspirations. As we know that education is certainly one of the important keys to success and a bright future, we are overwhelmed and humbled by all who have reached out in an effort to help. We have all been touched by this tragedy of a loving and dedicated father who has physically left us too soon, but continues to be with us in spirit. Thank you all for your kind words of support and prayers.

In lieu of flowers or other gifts honoring Ajené’s memory, the family requests contributions to the Ajené Mohr Family Memorial Fund. As AJ would have most wanted, the Fund has been created for Marina and Ramon’s college educations.
Contributions may be made using the donate tab above.

Wow! I can't believe it! AJ was a good dude and I am glad I got to know him while we were college students at UC Santa Cruz. A round the way brotha with a great head on his shoulders. I was hoping to reconnect with him to do some reaching back at UCSC but looks like we'll have to reconnect on the other side. Until then...

Dear Family,

As an addendum to the Anthony Family post, please forgive for the typo. The first line of our entry should be: "Dearest Gwen, Tiffany, John, Pierce and other family members, we are so saddened by your loss."

With much Love and Hugs,

"I got to know AJ briefly in the time I worked with him. It was blatantly obvious he loved his children as he always talked about spending time with them. He was a happy go lucky guy who was always smiling and laughing. We will all miss him at Ace."
